Our look at
BAKER TANKS

Baker Tanks Inc was founded in 1942 as a vacuum trucking service company. In 1992, Baker patented their smooth-walled steel tank design. By 1996, Baker had expanded into pipes, pumps and other accessories.

Lightyear Capital, founded in 2000, acquired BAKERCORP in 2005. As of July 2009, Lightyear Capital has fully invested The Lightyear Fund, L.P. and is currently investing Lightyear Fund II, L.P.

With beginnings as a supplier of temporary steel storage tanks to the oil field industry, Baker has grown into the largest pump, containment, filtration and shoring company in the world. With more than 90 locations in the US, as well as international operations in Canada, Mexico and Europe, BakerCorp provides its services to the oil & gas industry, and for chemical, manufacturing, environmental remediation, wastewater, and others.
