EOG Resources, Inc. is a large, independent oil and natural gas
company with reserves in Canada, China, Trinidad, the UK and US.
Over 70% of EOG’s natural gas reserves are located in the United
States. EOG had over 2,000 employees at the end of 2008.
In 1999, independence was declared from Enron Corporation and
the new name EOG Resources, Inc. was adopted. In 2000,
EOG opened their Southpointe office in Canonsburg,
Pennsylvania to focus on Appalachian Basin opportunities
around the Marcellus Shale.
As of 2008, 81% of EOG’s production was natural gas and 19% was
crude oil, condensate and natural gas liquids.
