Our look at
EASTERN AMERICAN ENERGY CORP.

Eastern American Energy Corporation, a West Virginia corporation, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Corporation of America.

Founded in 1963,
Energy Corporation of America is a privately held energy company engaged in the exploration, development, production, transportation and marketing of natural gas and oil in the Appalachian Basin through Eastern American Energy Corporation (EAEC) and its western United States subsidiary, Westech Energy Corporation.

Energy Corporation of America's divisions include:

  • Appalachian Basin - Energy Corporation of America began operations in the Appalachian Basin in 1965, and currently owns more than 5,000 wells and 5,000 miles of pipelines. ECA began testing wells in the Marcellus Shale gas play in the late 1970's. Since 2006, ECA has drilled over 150 wells from Kentucky to New York, and is presently developing its Pennsylvania and West Virginia Marcellus Shale acreage. In Fall 2009, Eastern American Energy Corp. drilled their fifth horizontal Marcellus well in Greene County, in the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania.
  • Rocky Mountain Division - Shallow gas holdings and heavy oil resources, with a gathering and transportation infrastructure.
  • International Division (1995) - New Zealand production with the first offshore well drilled in 2004.
  • Gulf Coast Division (2001) - Extensive development in the south Texas Deep Wilcox trend.

Eastern American Natural Gas Trust was formed to acquire and hold net profits created from the working interests owned by Eastern American Energy Corp. in 650 producing gas wells and 65 proved development well locations located in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
