a West Virginia corporation, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Energy Corporation of America.
Founded in 1963,
Energy Corporation of America
is a privately held energy company engaged in the exploration,
development, production, transportation and marketing of natural gas
and oil in the Appalachian Basin through
Eastern American
Energy Corporation (EAEC) and its
western United States subsidiary,
Westech Energy Corporation.
Energy
Corporation of America's divisions include:
- Appalachian Basin - Energy
Corporation of America began operations in the Appalachian Basin
in 1965, and currently owns more than 5,000 wells and 5,000
miles of pipelines. ECA began testing wells in the
Marcellus Shale gas play in the late 1970's. Since 2006, ECA has
drilled over 150 wells from Kentucky to New York, and is
presently developing its Pennsylvania and West Virginia
Marcellus Shale acreage. In Fall 2009, Eastern American
Energy Corp. drilled their fifth horizontal
Marcellus well in Greene County, in the southwestern corner
of Pennsylvania.
- Rocky Mountain Division - Shallow
gas holdings and heavy oil resources, with a gathering and
transportation infrastructure.
- International Division (1995) -
New Zealand production with the first offshore well drilled in
2004.
- Gulf Coast Division (2001) - Extensive
development in the south Texas Deep Wilcox trend.
Eastern American
Natural Gas Trust
was formed to acquire and hold net profits created from the working
interests owned by Eastern
American Energy Corp.
in 650 producing gas wells and 65 proved development well locations
located in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
