Our look at
GREAT LAKES ENERGY PARTNERS

Range Resources acquired Great Lakes Energy Partners, LLC in June 2004 in a deal worth approximately $290 million. Range previously held a 50% stake in Great Lakes Energy Partners. Great Lakes held properties in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio and New York, with offices in Yatesboro, Pa and Carlton, Pa, and corporate offices in Hartville, Ohio.

The purchase made Range Resources the third largest oil and gas company in the Appalachian Basin, increasing its leaseholds by 664,000 acres, boosting Range's production by 35 million cubic feet of gas, and giving the company control of over 5,000 miles of gas-gathering systems.
