National Oilwell
Varco (NOV) has been involved in oilfield products and oil and
gas drilling services since 1841, and now works through more than
700 manufacturing sales and service centers across the globe.
NOV provides land based drilling rigs, well servicing rigs,
major mechanical components for drilling rigs, internal tubular
coatings and tubular inspection, drill string equipment, handling
and lifting equipment, and downhole tools, bits and drilling motors.
Supply chain services are provided through a worldwide network of
distribution service centers. National Oilwell Varco supplies
over 40 product brand names to the drilling industry.
In January 2010, National Oilwell Varco acquired Ambar Lone Star
Fluids Services LLP, a drilling and completion fluids company
based in the US. Ambar was formerly a subsidiary of
Patterson-UTI.
