PostRock Energy
Corporation was created in early 2010 with a 3-way merger of
Quest Resource Corporation, Quest Energy Partners LP and
Quest Midstream GP LLC. The latter two entities were
previously subsidiaries of Quest Resource Corporation.
PostRock Energy is involved in acquisition, development,
exploration, production and transportation of oil and natural gas.
Focus areas include natural gas gathering, processing and
transportation pipelines, as well as oil and gas production.
PostRock owns over 2,400 wells in the Cherokee Basin of SE
Kansas and NE Oklahoma, in addition to oil and gas wells in Seminole
County, Oklahoma. PostRock owns over 2,000 miles of natural
gas gathering pipelines and more than 1,100 miles of interstate
pipelines in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Brief History
As of mid-2009,
Quest had over 180 miles of gathering pipelines in the
Appalachian Basin of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In 2008, Quest
acquired PetroEdge of Houston, Texas. PetroEdge
participated in farmout agreements with EV Energy Partners LP
and EnerVest LTD on acreage in north central West Virginia.
PetroEdge had drilled 112 producing wells by mid-2008, with
plans for three vertical and three horizontal Marcellus wells in the
second half of 2008. PetroEdge held acreage in New York
(Steuben County), Pennsylvania (Lycoming County) and West Virginia
(Lewis, Ritchie, and Wetzel Counties).
